Electronic Volumetric Head CLACK WS1CI (USA)

The American company CLACK is ranked No. 1 worldwide in the manufacture of valve heads and resins.

CLACK's WS1CI volumetric electronic head (valve) features a pulsating flowmeter (turbine type) and when the user-defined liters (cubic degree base) are consumed, the resin regeneration process begins. In addition to the volumetric function, the time function can also be activated, thus giving more advantages.
The regeneration process takes place in up to 9 cycles, all of which are customizable. 5 are enabled in the main menu:

1. Backwash : Resin preparation. The resin is rinsed in the maximum flow of water to prepare it for the next step. We usually set it from 3 to 8 minutes depending on the installation.
2. Brine & Slow Rinse : In this stage the head draws the salt water (sodium chloride) from the brine tank and irrigates the resin with it. It is the longest stage and lasts at least 60 minutes.
3. Backwash : Resin wash. The resin is rinsed in the maximum flow of water to prepare it for the next step. We usually set it to 1 minute depending on the installation.
4. Fast Rinse : The resin is rinsed at maximum flow to remove salt residue and return to its original state ready to deliver softened water again. This process takes from 5 to 10 minutes depending on the installation.
5. Brine Refill: The head refills the brine tank with water. This process takes from 3 to 10 minutes depending on the installation.

Clack's valve has a built-in Mixing Valve hardness adjustment system. This is a screw - regulator which is located at the output of the softener and allows us to set the desired hardness in applications with a hardness above 0 (eg in homes).

Dupont DOW DOWEX TapTec™ HCRSS Softening Resin

Dupont Dow Chemicals is the world's largest resin manufacturer. Based in America, it counts over 600 resins specialized for hundreds of applications.
The resin we use DOWEX TapTec™ HCRSS is a strong cationic suitable for potable water softening applications. It is WQA certified to NSF/ANSI-61 and complies with the US FDA Regulation 21 CFR 173.25. The resin absorbs the Calcium Ca2+ and Magnesium Mg2+ ions, elements which make up the hardness of the water, the so-called salts. The resin is charged with Na+ ions and has a total capacity of 1.9 eq/L. Each time it becomes saturated it will need regeneration with >99.5% purity sodium chloride (salt).

Conditions for Correct Operation of the Softener

• If the mains pressure is above 6 bar, a pressure reducer is recommended.
• Installation of a sediment filter before the softener inlet to protect the head.
• It is recommended to use salt in tablets due to its high purity.
