Technical Characteristics of Ecomix®A 5 in 1 Resin
Ecomix® A is a multiparametric – multifunctional resin that solves 5 water problems in just 1 system. It works like a classic softener and is ideal for many parts of Greece where there are problems such as the existence of hard water, iron, manganese etc.

Electronic Volumetric Head CLACK WS1CI TWIN (USA)
The American company CLACK is ranked No. 1 worldwide in the manufacture of valve heads and resins.
The TWIN function of the twin valve uses the resin columns alternately. Water only penetrates the first column and the second is on hold. As soon as the first one is saturated, the switch takes place. Thus, as soon as the second column starts, the first starts a regeneration process. This function gives us the advantage of having uninterrupted produced water operation.
CLACK's WS1CI Twin Volumetric Electronic Head (Valve) features a pulsating (turbine type) flowmeter and when the user defined liters (cubic degree base) are consumed, the resin regeneration process begins.
In addition to the volumetric function, the time function can also be activated, thus giving more advantages.
The regeneration process takes place in up to 9 cycles, all of which are customizable. 5 are enabled in the main menu:
- Backwash : Resin preparation. The resin is rinsed in the maximum flow of water to prepare it for the next step. We usually set it from 3 to 8 minutes depending on the installation.
- Brine & Slow Rinse : In this stage the head draws the salt water (sodium chloride) from the brine tank and irrigates the resin with it. It is the longest stage and lasts at least 60 minutes.
- Backwash : Resin wash. The resin is rinsed in the maximum flow of water to prepare it for the next step. We usually set it to 1 minute depending on the installation.
- Fast Rinse : The resin is rinsed at maximum flow to remove salt residue and return to its original state ready to deliver softened water again. This process takes from 5 to 10 minutes depending on the installation.
- Brine Refill: The head refills the brine tank with water. This process takes from 3 to 10 minutes depending on the installation.
Optionally, the Clack Mixing Valve can be installed at the valve outlet to adjust the desired hardness.

Conditions for Correct Operation of the System
- If the mains pressure is above 6 bar, a pressure reducer is recommended.
- Installation of a sediment filter before the softener inlet to protect the head.
- Use salt only in tablets.
